Centre sanctions solar energy scheme for Haryana
Chandigarh, Feb 12 (UNI) Union Ministry of New and Renewable Energy has sanctioned a Rs 5.38 crore proposal of Haryana State Renewable Energy Development Agency (HAREDA) under the solar photovoltaic programme in urban areas.
Deputy Chief Minister Chander Mohan said under the scheme, various devices would be installed including 126 street light charge controller, 846 solar photovoltaic street lights, 21 solar powered traffic signals, 700 solar road studs, 220 solar blinkers and 11 solar power packs in 11 districts of the state during the current financial year.
These districts were Panchkula, Ambala, Kurukshetra, Yamunanagar, Karnal, Rewari, Hisar, Sirsa, Jind, Kaithal and Faridabad.
He said out of the total cost of the project, over Rs 1.98 crore would be borne by Union Ministry of New and Renewable Energy and the state government would contribute Rs 95.59 lakh.
The remaining expenditure of the project would be borne by the municipal councils or corporations concerned.
