CBI files chargesheet in Oil Adulteration case

Mumbai, Feb 12 (UNI) The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has filed a chargesheet in the Oil Adulteration case against 12 accused, including Abdul Karim Telgi, prime accused in the multi-crore fake stamps and stamp papers case, in a metropolitan court.

CBI Special Prosecutor Pradeep Gharat said here today the prosecution had filed a chargesheet against the 12 accused for their alleged involvement in the Oil Adulteration case of 2001.

The Chargesheet was filed before the 19th Metropoltian Magistrate court against --Abdul Karim Telgi, Manoj Mehta, Naresh Nagrani, Rajendra Bhojalwar, Suresh Kumar Goel, Girish Vaide, Anil Gandhi, Deepak Thakker, Girish Mawdikar, Vilas Ingole, Satish Kumar Gupta and Arindar Ravind Chaudhary.

Mr Gharat said the accused had allegedly purchased 500 Metric Tonnes of Naptha through Gujarat-based Adani Export company on March 27, 2001 on the name of Thane Poli Organic company. He said Naptha was later utilised for mixing in High Speed Oil.

Initially, one case was registered with Economic Offence Wing (EOW) of Mumbai and another was lodged with the CBI. Later, both the cases were clubbed and a single chargesheet was filed against all the accused.
