BVS activists burn Valentine's day cards, damage hoarding in Pune

Pune, Feb 12 (UNI) Around 40 activists of the Bharatiya Vidyarthi Sena (BVS), youth wing of the Shiv Sena, today burnt cards from a shop on Senapati Bapat Road and damaged a hoarding carrying Valentine's day messages at Deccan Corner in the city today.

BVS City Unit President Ajay Shinde told mediapersons that the activists burnt Valentine's day cards from Archies Gallery and damaged a hoarding.

''My party's stand is very clear about Valentines Day, we will oppose the celebrations day after tomorrow, as it is not part of our culture,'' he said.

However, no complaint has been registered with the police and no one was detained in this regard, sources said.
