Bharat Bhavan's silver jubilee programme from tomorrow

Bhopal, Feb 12 (UNI) An eight-day programme will get underway here tomorrow on the occasion silver jubilee of multi-art centre Bharat Bhavan.

On the occasion, 'Kala Mela' focussing on contemporary artists is also being organised.

The silver jubilee programme will witness art performances by various states, including Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Orissa, Gujarat and Andhra Pradesh.

Bharat Bhavan Nyas Mandal Chairman Daya Prakash Sinha told reporters here that the programme was aimed at preserving traditional art forms and encouraging art, literature and music.

He admitted that the Bharat Bhavan was facing financial difficulties but said efforts were on overcome it. Cooperation has been sought from other states and some countries in this regard.

Mr Sinha said 30 artists from Madhya Pradesh will take part in the programme.

On the occasion, photographs, original letters, manuscripts and documents based on immortal litterateur Premchand's life will be showcased.

An exhibition of photographs taken in the past 25 years of Bharat Bhavan's history would provide a glimpse to its journey over time.

Replying to a question, he said no claim was being made that anything was being done which has never happened before. Earlier too, people associated with the Bharat Bhavan had put in good effort and this would continue in future.
