50 kg sea horses seized in TN

Tuticorin, Tamil Nadu, Feb 12 (UNI) Police seized 50 kg sea horses worth Rs 15 lakh in the international market, here last night.

Acting on specific information, police conducted a vehicle check near APCV College here when they found a bag containing ten kg of sea horses on a motorcycle.

Based on the information given by Saravanan who was riding the two-wheeler, police raided a house belonging to Muthuravi and seized 40 kg of seahorses.

Saravanan (27), Muthuravi (27) and Muthukutty were arrested.

Sea horses are much in demand for their medicinal properties.
