Train delayed due to hoax bomb call

Hoshangabad, MP, Feb 11 (UNI) A bomb scare on the Ferozepore-Mumbai Punjab Mail delayed the train by over five hours last night at Barkheda near here, railway sources said today.

An anonymous caller told police that a bomb had been placed in an air-conditioned compartment but a thorough check revealed that it was a hoax call.

The train was halted at Barkheda at 2020 hrs and the bomb squads from Hoshangabad and Bhopal were pressed into service to locate the bombs.

The train was allowed to proceed on its onward journey at 2330 hrs. Several other trains on Bhopal-Itarsi division were delayed as a result.
