Storm claims three lives in Rajasthan
Jaipur, Feb 11 (UNI) Three people, including two children, were killed and 40 decrepit houses collapsed in Rajasthan as high velocity winds accompanied by rains hit parts of the desert state late last evening.
''A 50-year-old woman, Sosar Devi, of Srinagar village in Tonk district died while two children -- Hemraj(12) and Kali (9) of Devnagar village in Ajmer district -- were killed when their houses collapsed due to high velocity winds and heavy rains that lashed the state on Saturday,'' police told UNI here today.
Besides this, over 25 people are reported to have been injured in the storm. The storm was so fierce that over 40 houses in different parts of Tonk and Ajmer districts suffered destruction.
Police said the reports of damage to crops were also filtering in from different areas of the state.
