Still no accord at North Korea talks -Xinhua (LEADS FN 3)
BEIJING, Feb 11 (Reuters) - Envoys to the six-party talks on scrapping North Korea's nuclear weapons programmes ended their fourth day of talks without agreement, Xinhua news agency today reported.
''The six parties continued their talks on February 11, focussed on the intial steps for the implementation of the joint statement, but failed to reach a compromise agreement,'' Xinhua said, without giving a source.
Xinhua gave no further details but was referring to a joint accord reached in September 2005 at which North Korea agreed to dismantle its weapons programmes in exchange for aid and security guarantees. The Xinhua report followed a meeting of the chief envoys to the talks today afternoon.
