Pulse polio drops administered in MP

Bhopal, Feb 11 (UNI) Several lakh children were today administered pulse polio drops in Madhya Pradesh under the immunisation programme against the disease.

About 1.60 lakh health personnel administered pulse polio drops to children below five years of age at 63,095 polio booths besides 1,848 mobile booths and 269 transit booths, according to official information.

Besides, 10,164 observers were appointed during the drive.

Transit booths were located at railway stations, bus stations, airports, brick kilns, factories, government hospitals and other remote areas.

Parents kept coming from morning till evening at most booths to get the pulse polio drops administered to their children.

State Health Minister Ajay Vishnoi administered pulse polio drops to children at Rampur in Jabalpur, Majhauli in Katangi and Chhoti Line Gorakhpur. He examined the manufacturing label on the medicine to determine its quality.

A door-to-door campaign would be launched on February 12-13 to ensure cent per cent coverage.
