Lucknow, Feb 11 (UNI) Alleging minority youths are being 'targetted'' for terrorism in the country, United Democratic Front (UDF) Chairman and Jama Maszid Shahi Imam Syed Ahmed Bukhari today demanded a thorough probe by the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) in all the police encounters.

''....Minority youths are being killed in fake encounters by terming them terrorists and both the Centre and other tate governments are responsible for such acts,'' the UDF Chairman said while addressing a press conference here.

Mr Bukhari claimed that the terrorists killed in Ayodhya, Parliament attack and others...in Kashmir were fake encounters, in which innocent people were punished.

Holding both the Congress government at the centre and the Mulayam Singh Yadav government in Uttar Pradesh for unleashing a reign of terror on the minorities, he said both the governments are ''anti-Muslim'' and their only effort is to indulge in vote-bank politics.

''Why no terrorist has been caught alive or even those arrested alleging conspiracy are given a fair judicial trial,'' he questioned.

He said only a judicial probe by the NHRC could give justice to the minorities about the fake encounters.

Commenting on the recent communal riots in Gorakhpur, the Imam of Jama Maszid said it was a ''conspiracy'' hatched by the Samajwadi Party government in nexus with the BJP. ''Everyone knows about the conspiracy as the ruling party did everything to incite communal feelings which might help the BJP gain grounds in the coming Assembly polls,'' he added.
