Illegal spirit seized

Palakkad, Feb 11 (UNI) The Police today seized 12,000 litre of illegal spirit worth Rs 15 lakh from a vehicle in Goapalapuram in this district.

The spirit was hidden in a lorry carrying coconut husk on its way to Chertala from Tamil Nadu, police said.

Dharmesh (28) of Dharmapuri in Salem District of Tamil Nadu was arrested.

The Excise Department has registered a case.
