Dubai govt orders investigation into human trafficking
Dubai, Jan 11 (UNI) Dubai government has started investigations into an alleged attempt at human trafficking and faking of documents by two Indians.
The duo, husband and wife, was arrested on December 27 last year at the airport here, when they were waiting for a connecting flight to Paris.
They were reportedly carrying fake passports of two young boys accompanying them, reports said.
The data recorded in the passports of the two minors showed them to be the sons of the accused but upon questioning, the couple denied being their parents.
They claimed they were asked by some people in Mumbai to hand over the children to someone in Paris.
The two minors were handed over to the Indian Embassy, which later sent them to live with an Indian family.
The defence advocate argued his clients were businessmen in Mumbai and do not need to commit the crime for money.
