5 held for harassing woman

Kancheepuram, Feb 11 (UNI) Five persons were arrested following a complaint of harassment from a woman.

Police said Parameswari had lodged a complaint with them after her husband Palani and in-laws sent her out from home after cutting her 'manglasutra' blaming her for some problems in the family.

Palani was already married to Sankari. However, he tied the knot for the second time after hiding the fact from Parameswari.

When Sankari came to know of this she lodged a complaint with the police following which they were arrested and produced before a local court.

At the point, when Paremeswari returned to her inlaws house, she was taunted by her husband, mother-in-law and relatives who also drove her out of the house following which she approached the police.
