19-year-old rag-picker held for minor's rape and murder

New Delhi, Feb 11 (UNI) With the arrest of a 19-year-old rag-picker, police today claimed to have solved the rape and murder case of a six-year-old girl who went missing in the R K Puram area on February 6.

According to police, Jyoti went missing on the night of February 6 when she was last seen playing outside her home at R K Puram.

Her charred body was found from the same vicinity the next day.

Police formed separate teams in view of a crime showing contours of Nithari.

Coincidentally, police, on February 10, got a tip-off about a sodomy case committed by one rag-picker named Surender.

Police arrested him and when they rounded him up he also made a confession of raping and killing the girl.
