Three hardcore NLFT insurgents surrender

Agartala, Feb 10 (UNI) Three hardcore militants of banned National Liberation Front of Tripura(NLFT) today surrendered before the Assam Rifles in Tripura's west district and deposited their arms and ammunition.

Official sources said three dreaded rebels of the underground NLFT laid down their arms and ammunition before the 11th battalion Assam Rifles at Khumulawng, the headquarters of the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council(TTAADC), and joined the mainstream.

The militants, who recently deserted base camps in Bangladesh and entered into the state, desposited AK series rifles, 22 rounds of ammunition and a pistol along with three rounds.

All the rebels were being interrogated to find out more clues about the NLFT militants activities, sources said.
