YSR lays foundation stone for amenity complex
Tirupati, Feb 9 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today laid the foundation stone for the Rs 52 crore 'Vishnu Nivasam,' a pilgrim amenity centre near the railway station here.
The centre will have 456 rooms with 2,730 for pilgrims. Besides, a central reception office (CRO) 'Arjitham' with 40 counters would be constructed at old Srinivasa Choultry which was demolished earlier.
Before attending Sri Venkateswara University (SVU) Senate Member Venkatarami Reddy's daughter wedding at Urban Haat near Tiruchanoor, Dr Reddy inaugurated Rs 4.50 crore Padmavathi Junior College for Women run by the TTD.
In his address, Dr Reddy stressed on the need for students to improve skills and knowledge to meet the requirements of a competitive world.
The state government was taking various steps to generate more jobs for the students.
He also inaugurated Sri Venateswara College for Men built at a cost of Rs five crore.Later, he left for Hyderabad by helicopter.
