Thai Prime Minister, Princess to visit India
Bangkok, Feb 9: Prime Minister of Thailand Surayud Chulanont isscheduled to travel to India this year after the official visit of ThaiPrincess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn next month.
With New Delhi and Bangkok preparing to mark the 60th anniversaryof the establishment of diplomatic relations this year, India isworking on the dates of Mr Surayud's visit, Secretary (East) in theMinistry of External Affairs, N Ravi told the Thai foreign minister.
Mr Ravi, who is here for the fifth India-Thailand Joint WorkingGroup on Security, made a courtesy call yesterday on Thailand's ForeignMinister Nitya Pibulsonggram.
He was accompanied by Indian Ambassador to Thailand Latha Reddy.
The Thai government has planned a series of events in severalIndian cities to mark six decades of bilateral ties. These include roadshows and traditional Thai classical Khon performances.
Thailand will also organize a group ordination of Thai monks atBuddh Gaya to mark the 2,550th Buddha Jayanti and the 80th birthday ofthe Thai King this year.
