Students hold 'lantern' morcha to MSEDCL office

Kolhapur, Feb 9 (UNI) A large number of students and citizens marched to the office of Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Ltd (MSEDCL) here, carrying 'lanterns and torches' to protest against heavy load-shedding in the area.

The agitation was organised last night by the Bhartiya Vidyarthi Sena (BVS), Kolhapur unit.

A delegation met MSEDCL Deputy Executive Officer (electricity distribution) K B Patil and detailed him about their demands and problems the students were likely to face during the forthcoming examination period due to the load-shedding, a release here today said.

The students have threatened to intensity their agitation if necessary steps are not taken within two days to reduce load-shedding and said MSEDCL would be held responsible for the consequences, the release added.
