K'taka to fight Cauvery dispute within legal frame
Bangalore, Feb 9: Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumarswamy todaysaid that the state government will fight the Cauvery water disputewith in legal frame work.
Talking to newsmen at the lounge of the Legislative Assembly, hesaid that the government would consult legal experts before deciding onthe steps to be taken to fight the issue.
Replying to a question, he declined to disclose as to what stepsthe government would take saying that " at this juncture I cannot makepublic about the steps the government intends to take on the issue".
Mr Kumaraswamy said that the people of the State, by maintaininglaw and order and not giving into emotions have once again proved thatthey are peace loving people.
He said that the full text of the final judgment of the CauveryWater Dispute Tribunal (CWDT) was available with the government andwould be made available to all leaders.
Defending the lawyers who represented the state in the Tribunal,Mr Kumaraswamy ruled out change of lawyers if the State goes on appealbefore the CWDT.
