2 smugglers held, 8.5 kg charas seized in Kashmir

Srinagar, Feb 9: Jammu and Kashmir police arrested two persons and seized 8.5 kg of high quality charas in south Kashmir.

A police spokesman said acting on a tip off, a police party raideda number of suspected places at Mattan, in south Kashmir district ofAnantnag last night.

During the operation, police arrested Mohammad Saleem Khan and Mohammad Shafi Bhat, he said.

About a dozen smugglers were arrested and several kgs of charasand heroin were recovered by the police in the Kashmir valley duringthe past two weeks.
