Hyena ventures onto Jaipur runway

Jaipur, Feb 9 (UNI) A hyena created a stir at Jaipur's Sanganer Airport when it strolled onto the runway here today.

However, no flights schedules were disrupted.

According to police, the hyena created chaos around 1215 hrs when it was sighted running on the runway from one end to the other.

Police CISF and forest officials were informed who immediately reached the site.

Forest officials led by zoo doctor Mohan Singh Chaudhary, fired a transquiliser which made it unconscious It was then caged and taken to the zoo. The whole process took more than an hour.

Police and forest officials said it is difficult to ascertain how it reached the runway.
