British soldier killed, 3 hurt in Iraq bomb

LONDON, Feb 9 (Reuters) A British soldier was killed and three were wounded by a roadside bomb in Basra in southern Iraq today the Ministry of Defence said.

''There was a roadside bomb on a patrol in the southeast of Basra city,'' a spokesman said. One of the three injured soldiers was in critical condition.

The names of the casualties were not released.
