''All army are not our enemy'': UNLF chief
Imphal, Feb 9 (UNI): United National Liberation Front (UNLF) chief R K Sanayaima today said the UNLF does not consider all the 50,000 army personnel in Manipur as its enemies.
In a statement here, Mr Sanayaima said the UNLF and its military wing MPA also have not targetted citizens of India or troops in other parts of the country.
He said intense fights were on between MPA cadres and troops in the state and during the past one year 15 major battles were fought.
Giving a detailed account of the encounters between troops and MPA cadres, he revealed that 40 troops were killed during the past one year.
He also said that the problem in the region should be solved politically.
