Airtel adds 330 sites in West Bengal
Kolkata, Feb 09: Airtel, India's one of the leading mobile serviceprovider, has added 330 new cell sites to improve and upgrade itsnetwork for over 1.8 million customers in West Bengal.
The company's release here said the cites were open betweenOctober 2006 to January 2007 all over the major places of the stateadding that the total number cell sites stand at 2000.
This has been done to increase network coverage in key buildingand locations here so as to provide smoother and faster connectivity tothe customes acros the state.
These would also enable customers to not only experience enhancedvoice calls but also witness faster data downloads for better mobileinteractivity.
The network services had been revamped in several districtsincluding Birbhum,Uttar Dinajpur,Darjeeling,Jalpaiguri,Coochbehar,Malda, Nadia and Murshidabad.
Besides, some new sites also were added in January covering some various busy areas of the city.
