Youth wings stage protest against Salem Division

Palakkad, Feb 8 (UNI) Youth wings of various political parties today staged separate protest demonstrations here against the formation of the Salem Railway Division by bifurcating Palakkad Division.

Eleven activists of the Kerala State Youth Federation, a pro -CPI(M) outfit, were taken into custody when they tried to conduct a railway adalat at the office of the Additional Divisional Railway Manager here.

Earlier, activists of the Yuva Morcha, a pro-BJP youth wing, staged a satyagraha in front of Palakkad Junction.

Pro-CPI All India Youth Front (AIYF) activists blocked trains in the afternoon at Palakkad Junction, disturbing rail traffic.
