US doesn't see Iran test missiles as threat

WASHINGTON, Feb 8 (Reuters) The White House said today it did not see Iran's test-firing of missiles as an assault against U.S.

warships in the Gulf.

Iran's Revolutionary Guards were reported by an Iranian naval commander to have have test-fired missiles today that could sink ''big warships'' in the Gulf, the waterway where a second US aircraft carrier is now heading.

''We do not see that as a direct assault on our ships,'' said White House spokesman Tony Snow when asked about the missile tests.
