TN Cabinet reshuffle at convenient time: CM
Chennai, Feb 8 (UNI) Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi tonight said the state Cabinet would be reshuffled at a convenient and an appropriate time.
''There could be changes in the Cabinet. But, it will take place as per suitability at the appropriate time,'' he told mediapersons at party headquarters Anna Arivalayam here.
The Chief Minister, however, did not divulge whether the DMK's ally, the Congress, would be accommodated in the Cabinet.
Congress MLAs, who had been demanding a share in power, had even raised the issue on the floor of the Assembly. But, it had so far not evoked any positive response from the ruling party.
Asked about Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam (DMDK) President Vijayakanth's charge that the DMK was threatening his party candidates to withdraw from the race in the re-election to Chennai Corporation wards, and that their nominations had been rejected on false grounds, Mr Karunanidhi said a scrutiny of the papers would reveal the actual reason for rejection.
Dismissing the charge as a 'lie,' the Chief Minister said it only reflected his lack of confidence in his candidates.
