Police apprehend three dreaded NLFT rebels
Agartala, Feb 08 (UNI) Three National Liberation Front of Tripura (NLFT) militants were apprehended by the security forces from G B bazar here last night.
Police today said Superintendent of Police of Dhalai district Arindam Nath on a tip off from the district headquarters at Ambassa laid a trap tolan nab the rebels, who arrived here from Longtharai valley sub-division of the district.
Soon after receiving the report about the arrival of the militants here, police along with Tripura State Rifles, led by SDPO Ambassa Tapan Kumar Debnath, launched a massive search operation in the market and later arrested them from a shop.
Search party recovered from the rebels more than Rs 18,000 and other materials.
Interrogation was on in the East police station here.
Meanwhile, according to a delayed report here from Gandachara sub-division, also in Dhalai district, militants shot dead ruling CPI(M) worker Rathasen Tripura at his house at Ratannagar village and on their way injured a daily labourer on Sunday last.
The deceased was an active worker of tribal frontal organisation Gana Mukti Parishad.
