Karra presents Select Committee Report

Jammu, Feb 8 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir Finance, Law and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Tariq Hameed Karra today presented the Report of Select Committee on a bill to make provisions for the application of the Muslim Personal Law (Shariat) to Muslims of the State.

Besides, Chairman Committee on Government Assurances Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami presented the 14th Report of the Committee in the Lower House today.

Mr Karra also laid on a copy of the Jammu and Kashmir State Human Rights Commission annual report along with Action Taken Report for the year 2005-06 as required under sub section 2 of Section 12 of the Jammu and Kashmir Protection of Human Rights Act, 1997.

He also laid a copy of the report of Comptroller and Auditor General of India for the year ending March, 2006.

Meanwhile, Senior Minister Mangat Ram Sharma tabled a copy of the Audit Inspection Report and Annual Accounts of the state's Khadi and Village Industries Board for 1999-2000.
