JK Assembly rejects change in Vaishnodevi Shrine Board
Jammu, Feb 8 (UNI) The Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly today rejected some private bills seeking change in the structures of Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board (MVDSB) and Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB).
Intervening in the issue, Senior Minister Mangat Ram Sharma said these two holy places of the Jammu and Kashmir are popular world-wide and attracting pilgrims from all over the world and there is no need to change the structure of the boards.
Bills were introduced by Mir Saifullah and others regarding amendment to be made to Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Act, 1988 and Shri Amarnath Ji Shrine Act, 2000, and Jammu and Kashmir Shrines and religious places of Kashmiri Hindus bill 2005.
These bills could not muster support in the Lower House and were opposed by the state government too.
