Gujarat increases stamp duty

Ahmedabad, Feb 8 (UNI) Gujarat Government has decided to increase the stamp duty by 50 per cent on sale-purchase deals of real estate in the state from tomorrow.

The new hike of 50 per cent will be on the existing price-table which came into effect in year April-1999, an official statement said here today.

The new stamp-duty rates will have annual hike of 5 per cent, the release said.
