Congress leader asks TDP to announce opposition
Vijayawada, Feb 8 (UNI) Senior Congress leader and the party's official spokesperson Paladagu Venkata Rao today asked Andhra Pradesh opposition Telugu Desam Party (TDP) President N Chandrababu Naidu to openly announce its opposition before the people on the increase of discharge capacity of Pothrireddypadu Head Regulator.
Addressing a press meet here, Mr Rao said several leaders from TDP were making a hue and cry on diversion of flood water had found fault on the state government's move.
When Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhar Reddy conducted an all-party meeting on the issue, the representative on behalf of the TDP had not opposed the decision taken by the state government, he reminded.
The opposition partes were bent upon creating hurdles midway through the construction of Polavaram, Pulichinthala Projects, he said, adding if the construction of Polavaram Project was held up, water supply to Visakhapatam would be stopped.
Charging the opposition parties with lacking 'clarity', Mr Rao said they would become a laughing stock before the people if they continued their criticism on the state government.
