Cabinet for spl Unauthorised Colonies Development Fund

New Delhi, Feb 8 (UNI) Close on the heels of the Union government's decision to regularise more than 1500 unauthorised colonies, the Delhi Cabinet today decided to create a special Unauthorised Colonies Development Fund to facilitate process of upgradation of civic services in these colonies.

In the Cabinet meeting, presided by Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit, she said her government would bring a detailed note at the earliest for creation of the special fund.

The State government would generate funds from its own resources and also approach the Union government for allocation of funds under the Jawaharlal Nehru Urban Renewal Mission.

The Delhi Cabinet appreciated the efforts made by the Prime Minister, Congress Chairperson, Union Home Minister, Union Urban Development Minister, and Administrator of Delhi and Delhi Development Authority Chairman in finalising and notifying the Master Plan for Delhi 2021.

The Cabinet felt that the plan reflects the aspirations of the citizens of Delhi, consistent with the objective of developing the national capital as an aesthetically compliant and global city.

Ms Dikshit said the modalities of regularisation of the colonies had been entrusted to the State government.
