B'lore Aero Show suspended after a minor crash

Bangalore, Feb 8: An Intermediate Jet Trainer (IJT) of the public sector Hindustan Aeronautics Limited today strayed off the main runway while preparin to take off for the flight display on the second day of the five-day international aviation exposition, Aero India 2007.

The incident occurred when the pilot entered the second phase of the runway and was moving on to the main runway for a final take off. The incident happened immediately after the indigenously produced Light Combat Aircraft Tejas completed its show, sources said.

According to eye witness reports, there was no casualty and the pilot bailed out to safety immediately.

An ALH helicopter of the Sarang aerobatic team crashed on February two during rehearsal for the air show, killing the co-pilot and seriously injuring the pilot.
