Azad emphasises state-wide awareness about AIDS

Jammu, Feb 8 (UNI) Emphasising statewide awareness about HIV and AIDS, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad today said the legislators have a responsible role to play in educating people about all health related matters.

While addressing AIDS advocacy conference for sensitising legislators of the state, organised by State AIDS Prevention and Control Society, Mr Azad said the central health authorities assured that liberal funding will be given to fight against AIDS.

He hoped that all these health units will also help in spreading awareness on AIDS and other diseases.

Attention towards providing health facilities is one topic on which unanimous opinion of the legislators is required, irrespective of party lines, Mr Azad said.

Mr Azad advised all legislators to work together with one goal of providing best health care to the people of the state.

The Chief Minister also released a newsletter on the occasion.
