38 nabbed after communal tension

Dewas, MP, Feb 8 (UNI) Thirty eight people have been arrested in the wake of communal tension in this district's Haat Pipaliya where an attempt was made to rape a minor.

''Prohibitory orders were imposed on Haat Pipaliya, Bagli, Chapda, Karnawad and Nevri where security personnel staged flag marches. Those apprehended include the person who perpetrated the sexual assault yesterday. A mob blocked a road and indulged in stone-pelting in support of a demand that the accused be handed over to it,'' said Collector Umakant Umrao.

Police fired in the air to bring the situation under control.
