Varman launches Turbo Prop Aero Engine Overhaul programme

Bangalore, Feb 7 (UNI) Varman Aviation Private Limited today announced the launch of its much-awaited Turbo Prop Aero Engine Overhaul Programme.

Company President and Chief Executive Officer M M Varman, in a release here, said ''the company has achieved another milestone in establishing world class infrastructure for the overhaul of Turbo Prop Engines, starting with Pratt and Whitney PT6A series engines.'' He said the new set up consisted of dust-free, fully air conditioned assembly shop, chemical cleaning grit blasting facility.

NDT set up, which was in line with the Pratt and Whitney in test bed, had a unique improvement of the existing test beds. The operation of the test bed had been fully computerised.

Mr Varman said the new facility would cater to the requirements of SARAS aircraft as well, which was being developed by NAL.

He said it was proposed to start a Flying Training Academy with 40 students capacity. Clearance from DGCA was awaited to start the Academy.
