New Delhi, Feb 7 (UNI) Chill returned to Delhi today following a short burst of light rains and thundershowers in the capital last night.

After warm weather in the capital over the last nearly ten days, cold Easterly winds brought back the chill in the air in Delhi.

The Easterly winds led to a dip in maximum temperature to 24 Degree Celsius, from over 26 Degree C yesterday.

Although the minimum temperature rose to 14 Degree Celsius today, which was five degrees above normal, it was mainly due to a cloud cover in Delhi since last night.

After the thundershowers and cold winds last night that led to light rain and a return of slight chill in the Capital city, weathermen have forecast more thundershowers in Delhi in the next 24 hours, indicating that the chill in Delhi since the morning could persist over the next few days.

The weathermen have forecast a fall in night temperatures in Northwest India by two to three degree C over the next one or two days due to more rainfall and onset of Northwesterly winds under the influence of a western disturbance.

Infact, according to the BBC, the minimum temperature could drop to 8 Degree C tomorrow.

''The current meteorological analysis suggests that scattered rain or thundershowers are likely over East Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Northwest India during the next 24 hours,''the weather office said.

For Delhi, the weather office has forecast a partly cloudy sky with possibility of rain and thundershowers in some areas during the next 24 hours.
