Security withdrawal by legislators not with mala-fide intentions:PDP

Jammu, Feb 7 (UNI) The Peoples Democratic Party today clarified letters for withdrawal of security by former Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, party president Ms Mehbooba Mufti and all 24 legislators did not carry any ''mala-fide intentions''.

Former Deputy Chief Minister and senior PDP leader Muzzaffar Hussain Baig, while clearing the party position in the Legislative Assembly today, said the coalition government is running the affairs with a ''unanimous approach''.

Mr Baig welcomed the the judicial probe into incidents of fake encounters.

As many as 24 PDP legislators (18 MLAs and 6 MLC) submitted a joint letter to Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad asking him to withdraw their personal security as well as the security guards stationed at their residences last night.

Reiterating his party's stand, Mr Baig said it has been a consistent view of the PDP that a dignified solution to the problems facing Jammu and Kashmir could come only through dialogue and peaceful means.
