Rose aroma on India Post stamps

Port Blair, Feb 7 (UNI) India Post today released the second in the series of scented stamps bearing the fragrance of roses.

''A set of four stamps on Indian varieties of roses (Bhim, Delhi Princess, Jawahar and Neelam) are being brought out. Out of the four, two stamps are in the denomination of Rs five and the other two are in that of Rs 15,'' Director of India Post in Andaman, Madhumita Das told media here.

These stamps are being brought out in sheetlets (a set of 16 stamps each), mixed blocks and miniature sheets of four stamps each, along with a First Day Cover and a detailed information brochure.

The Department is also bringing out presentation pack of stamps priced at Rs 55 and Rs 185, Ms Das added.

''Keeping in mind the forthcoming valentine season, India Post is also launching a greeting card on roses with a jacket for the four scented stamps. The card will come in a beautifully designed cover on the same theme,'' she said.

The stamps and other philatelic materials including the greeting cards would be available from the Philatelic Bureau of Post office here today.
