RJD justifies NSG security for Rabri Devi

Patna, Feb 7 (UNI) The RJD today justified NSG security cover for its leader and former Bihar chief minister Rabri Devi, saying that she was on the hit list of the extremist outfit Ranveer Sena.

Senior party leader and former state minister Shyam Rajak, who was made national spokesperson of the party, told newspersons here that despite intelligence reports of threat on Ms Rabri Devis life, the state government neglected the provision for adequate security cover to her.

He said the state government was making a hue and cry over the NSG security provided by the Central government to her. BJP president Rajnath Singh had also been given the security, he said.

Reacting to the statement of JD(U) leaders who had raised fingers on development-related activities of the ministers from Bihar in the Union cabinet, he said the ministers and leaders of the party had not crossed the limits and they were just keeping an eye on the functioning of the government and its development-oriented policies.

He also refuted the charges labelled by the JD(U) about non-development in railways during the regime of Railway Minister Lalu Prasad and said Mr Prasad sanctioned projects worth Rs 900 crore whereas Nitish Kumar during his regime had hardly sanctioned projects up to the tune of Rs 220 crore. It was Mr Prasad who raised the project cost of railway factory at Harnauth in Nalanda district from Rs 98 crore to Rs 2028 crore, he said.
