Rajnath projects Badal Sr as efficient CM

Hoshiarpur, Feb 7 (UNI) Predicting that the NDA would form the government at the Centre in 2009, BJP president Rajnath Singh today appealed to the peopls to vote the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD)-BJP alliance to power in Punjab.

''Under SAD chief Parkash Singh Badal, who is a seasoned politician and approachable to everyone, the state will enter a new era of development,'' he said, addressing an election rally in support of BJP candidate Arunesh Shakar at Mukerian.

Under Mr Badal's able leadership, the state had already achieved various targets in the development field, he added while refering to the SAD president's earlier tenures as Chief Minister of the border state.

Mr Singh said the people of the state were fed-up with the corrupt administration of the Congress and had made up their mind to throw it out of the power. He claimed the future of Punjab was safe in the hands of SAD (B)-BJP alliance.

Earlier Mr Sukhbir Singh Badal, MP and General Secretary of SAD, strongly criticised the Amarinder Singh's government for its anti-people and anti-farmers policies.
