Rain God brings cold back in UP
Lucknow, Feb 7 (UNI) Winter, which had virtually disappeared in Uttar Pradesh, has returned after a brief rain spell all over the state.
So far, UP was witnessing an unusual rise in Mercury since last couple of weeks.
A met department spokesperson told UNI that during the last 24 hrs, rainfall accompanied by thundershowers were witnessed in Allahabad, Varanasi, Kanpur, Bareilly, Agra, Gorakhpur and Luknow divisions.
Even though, mercury continued to be above normal, cold winds made people shiver even during the day.
Allahabad and Gorakhpur, at 13 degrees Celsius, remained the coldest place in UP. The city of Taj recorded 16 degrees C.
Rain God has brought good news for the farmers as the rain would prove to a blessing for the Mango crop.
Weatherman have forecast rainfall/thundershowers in the next 24 hrs.
