Chandigarh, Feb 7: CPI's Punjab unit secretary Joginder Dayal today termed the statement of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on the possible re-emergence of terrorism in the state as ''irresponsible.'' While releasing the party manifesto here today, Mr Dayal categorically said there is no such threat and the Prime Minister's statment was quite ''baseless'' and merely aimed at garnering the Hindu votes ''It is unbecoming on the part of a person sitting at such a high position, he added.
''People of Punjab are fed up with terrorism and if there is a threat then it is from the Congress party itself, which is supporting and helping nearly 300 police cats (informers) responsible for the deaths of innocent people. Not only this, many police cats came alive during Amarinder Singh rule who were ealier declared dead, Mr Dayal said.
