Next sitting of 'Farewell session' postponed

Lucknow, Feb 7 (UNI) The next sitting of the ongoing Winter session of the Uttar Pradesh legislative assembly would now be held on February 26, exactly a month after the House met last month.

Speaker Mata Prasad Pandey said here that now instead of February 12, the House would meet on February 26.

The ongoing session of the state legislature, which commenced on January 18 with the Governor's address, is being termed the '' farewell session'' as the assembly elections could be announced shortly.

The Samajwadi Party government had won the vote of confidence in the House after the Congress -- extending outside support and RLD -- so far an ally -- withdrew support from the ruling dispensation last month.
