Bhopal, Feb 7 (UNI) The Bharatiya Janata Party's Madhya Pradesh working committee today demanded that Prime Minister Manmohan Singh should order a high-level inquiry into the Centre's discriminatory attitude in supplying urea to this state.

Furnishing details of a political proposal passed at the committee's two-day meeting that got underway here today, the party's state General Secretary Faggan Singh Kulaste said, ''the Centre was urged to allot eight lakh tonnes.'' Rejecting the recommendations of the Sachchar Committee formed by the Centre's Congress-led United Progressive Alliance, the proposal condemned the report as a conspiracy to weaken the country through appeasement. The proposal alleged that the delay in Parliament attack convict Mohammad Afzal Guru's execution was part of this appeasement.

''The Centre slashed 300 MW off Madhya Pradesh's quota. The state has been shifted from the western grid to the northern one where power is inadequate,'' the proposal said.

New Delhi was blamed for neglecting the farming sector, not enhancing investment in it, ryots' suicides, a spurt in terrorism and other issues. The Centre's economic policies were held responsible for inflation.

The proposal claimed that the state government added 1,898 MW generating capacity over the past three years. Conspiratorial attempts to disturb communal harmony were condemned. The proposal was tabled by state General Secretary Bhupendra Singh, approved by Secretary Babusingh Raghuvanshi and seconded by Mr Kulaste.
