MLA assaults govt employee

Dhar, MP, Feb 7 (UNI) A case has been registered against former Madhya Pradesh Minister of State for Home Jagdish Muwel, who is the Bharatiya Janata Party MLA from this district's Dharampuri, for allegedly assaulting a government employee, the police said.

Assistant Superintendent (Land Records) Ramgopal Makodiya, posted at the Land Conversion and Resettlement Office in Dharampuri, complained to the district collector that Mr Muwel targeted him after calling him to his office.

''The legislator was pressurising me to allot a plot to some persons,'' the victim The collector directed the police to conduct an inquiry. The case was registered yesterday after preliminary investigation.
