Metal prices rise on fresh buying support

Mumbai, Feb 7 (UNI) Metal prices today rose on fresh buying support here and at the London Metal Exchange, traders at the Bombay Metal Exchange said.

In the ferrous category, copper heavy, copper utensil and brass utensils hiked by Rs 100 each on higher advice.

In the non-ferrous section, copper wire bars rose by Rs 100 on less stock supply.

Tin slab fell by Rs three while nickel cathode shot up by Rs 10 per kg on reduced stock supply.

Following are the spot metal prices per quintal: Ferrous metals: Copper heavy - Rs 29,800, Copper utensils - Rs 28,600, Brass utensils - Rs 22,800, Brass cuttings - Rs 24,500 and Aluminium utensils - Rs 11,500.

Non-ferrous metals: Copper wire bars - Rs 32,900, Aluminium ingots - Rs 14,200, Zinc slab Rs 18,500, Lead ingots - Rs 7,500, Tin slab - Rs 605 (per kg) and Nickel cathode - Rs 1,880 (per kg).
