Srinagar, Feb 7 (UNI) The Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) today took out a ''Mashal'' (torch) procession to protest the alleged killing of innocent persons in fake encounters by security forces in the Kashmir valley.

Led by senior JKLF leaders Shakeel Bakshi and Noor Mohammad Kalwal, a majority of the processionists carried ''Mashal'' in their hands and marched from the JKLF headquarters at Maisuma near here where Mohammad Yaseen Malik has been on a three-day hunger strike since yesterday to protest the fake encounter killings.

The processionists raised slogans demanding the arrest of the 'killers' and stopping ''state terrorism''. They marched through Budhshah chowk, Exhibition road and Secretariat road before reaching Batmaloo, once the strong hold of militants.

A large number of people also joined them on the way.

A JKLF spokesman said the processionists would march through different streets before finally dispersing peacefully in the down town city late in the evening.
