Light rains, thunderstorms hit Delhi, bring coolness in air

New Delhi, Feb 6 (UNI) Light rains hit the capital tonight, bringing sudden coolness in the city, which has been experiencing an unusually warm weather over the last more than a week.

The rains which followed thunderstorms hit Delhi around 2130 hrs.

Although only traces of rain were recorded, the showers together with thunderstorms brought down the mercury in the capital considerably.

The clouds started building up in the capital towards late evening which was soon followed by a thunderstorm at arond 2100 hrs, bringing about slight chill in the air in Delhi which has, for the last over ten days experiencing above normal temperature.

The weather office has forcast more thunderstorms in the capital in the next 24 hrs, with the possibility of light rains in some areas.
